Rue de Bellechasse, a street beside the Musée d’Orsay and always bustling with tourists, was established in the 17th century. This street, which has been witness to many changes over the centuries, now, sees a brand new hotel opened its doors. We visited this hotel designed by one of the most famous French fashion
designer, Christian Lacroix.(2007-07-28)

The Hotel Bellechasse stands in the 7th district of Paris, where you can find many different faces of the city; embassies, ministries, luxurious apartments, antique shops, art galleries, book stores and cafés. The effect Christian Lacroix wanted to achieve here was ‘travel within travel.’ In this place, where past, present and future are come together, we feel as if we traveled to another world across times and
places.
“When Christian first showed me his drawings, they were so original and special that I couldn’t really imagine how the hotel would look. But now, I know I was right to ask him to design my hotel…It’s just amazing”, says the owner, Mr. Corruble.
The 18th century Baroque style printed wallpaper and
contemporary furniture make for magical harmony. The
historical atmosphere of the area and Lacroix’s
style represent Parisian left bank chic.
The bathtub is in the bedroom in some rooms, which might be ideal for couples. |

And if you get hungry in the middle of the night, room service is available 24 hours.

Hotel Bellechasse is ideally located in the center of Paris, less than one-minute walk from the Musée d’Orsay and the Seine River. It’s also near Saint Germain des Près and Invalides. If you go across the Seine River, you will arrive at ‘Jardin des Tuileries’, ‘Place de la Concorde’ and the Louvre in around ten
minutes.
How much does a room like this cost? A room in this hotel situated in one of the most beautiful areas of Paris, with the magical atmosphere created
by Christian Lacroix?
