A Deserted Baby Carriage
On Montmarte hill, by the stairs near the Abbesses station on the Metro, I came across this baby carriage that looked like something out of an old movie, to the point where I almost want to refer to it is a pram instead. When I peeked inside it was pretty dirty leading me to think that it wasn’t being used any more. I wondered if perhaps someone were throwing it out, but it seemed that if it were properly cleaned and repaired you would be able to use it again. That’s not very feasible, but at least one could take it to an antique store and sell it for something… I wondered. Well, regardless, these old baby carriages were well made, and it looked really heavy. Even under normal circumstances the slopes and stairs of Montmartre can be a lot to take, so it must have been rough for anyone out pushing one of these things around. (2008-04-24)
