For people who feel that, although the exchange rate for euros being up means you should reduce your food expenses, eating fast food everyday in a country of gourmet food would just be unbearable, a mighty ally has appeared. Having just opened this year (2007) near Madeleine Plaza, Cuizines is a restaurant offering food with an originality that comes from a solid concept, starting from quality ingredients, and seeming as if it were prepared by a restaurants chef. But above all, it is easy to get and reasonably priced. Its based in fast food, and they dont make everything from scratch in the shop, but because the owner developed the menu with a real chef, the flavors have really exceeded those of fast food. Nevertheless, for around 10 you can eat a marvelous meal all the way through dessert. The most popular is the Plat (an entree), whose

ingredients change little by little each day. Coriander flavored lamb stew, shrimp and fava bean risotto, and lemongrass flavored chicken are all examples of the restaurant style, elaborate dishes they offer. You can also experience their amazing sandwiches like the tuna, ricotta cheese, eggplant, and alfalfa or the pastrami, mascarpone, and mustard sandwiches. Furthermore, the desserts were created under the supervision of an MOF (Meilleurs Ouvriers de France, or Best Craftsman of France) award winning patissier (pastry shop) and are always fresh and delicious. Espresso is available for 1.20, about the same as McDonalds. And since you can get everything to go, its even popular with Parisians who work nearby. (2008-01-16)
