In France these days, the word
“design” is often used in conjunction with words
like "fashion" and "modern", but this is actually a
rather vague concept. By taking furniture from the
Industrial Revolution through to today and
separating it, not chronologically but by form,
construction, and style, this exhibition gives you
another chance to really think about the meaning of
the word “design”.
