The Musée des Arts Decoratifs’s
Toy Gallery (Galerie des jouets) had been gathering
toys since it’s inception in 1905, and now has a
huge collection of over 12,000 items assembled all
in one place. The current exhibition, "TOY Comix",
is made up of several unique, themed worlds produced
by a total of 34 international illustrators using
some of the museum’s evocative toys and comic books.
You’ll be able to enjoy the toys from various angles
and in different ways, like the comics created by 18
different artists, choosing one toy as the
protagonist, “18 jouets, 18 histoires”, or the
worlds expressed in miniature by arranging figures
in a small space called “Les Univers”. There are
also films, installation pieces, and interviews.
