The best place to get a view of the symbol of Paris, the Eiffel Tower, has got to be the Palais de Chaillot in Trocadero. Hotel Longchamp Elysees is a three star hotel that is only a 2-3 minute walk from Trocadero. Since this is something of an exclusive residential district with the embassies of many nations, even Parisians are attracted to the area.

The beige rooms are neat and simple, and perfectly efficient. The necessary facilities, like wireless internet access, a mini-bar, and a safe are all provided.

Speaking of the Palais de Chaillot in Trocadero, there are a lot of museums in the area like the newly reopened (in the Spring of 2007 after a lengthy remodeling process) Architecture Heritage Museum, the Naval Museum, and the Museum of Mankind. Across the Seine River, at the foot of the Eiffel Tower, the Bateaux Parisiens cruise boats arrive and depart for their excursions on the Seine. It’s only three stops on the metro to the Arc de Triomphe or the Champs Elysees, but, of course, it’s close enough to walk as well. And two stops away on the Metro is the Musee Marmottan, which features an amazing collection of Monet’s works (a must-see for fans of impressionism). You’ll also have direct access to the department stores on Rue Haussmann, the Opera, and Montparnasse. Just one stop away on the Metro is the Passy neighborhood, which is a little known but great shopping spot that features a lot of famous brands, like the shop where Franck et Fils (well loved by those in the know) got started.

Reasons to choose this hotel: Map:

Very near the Palais de Chaillot, which has a beautiful view of the Eiffel Tower, in a quiet, exclusive residential environment.
Within walking distance of the Arc de Triomphe, Champs Elysees, and Passy.
Trocadero station has Line 9 running on the right bank, and Line 6 running on the left bank, so it’s easy to get anywhere within Paris.
From Trocadero station you’ll have access to a lot of very convenient buses like #63 which runs to the Musee d'Orsay, Invalides, Saint Germain des Pres, Le Bon Marche, Saint Sulpice, the National Museum of the Middle Ages, the botanical gardens, and the Arab World Institute, #30 which runs to Montmartre, and #32 which heads to Champs Elysees.
